I was the primary artist on this map from blockout to ship. I was tasked to work with concept and design with the understanding that this would be the centerpiece of the bungie E3 demo. I did several visual explorations of prison architecture and worked with concept and the art director to nail down the vision of the map. Once the blockout was solid, we had a 3 week crunch of all hands on deck and 5-6 artists jumped in to help with the first pass to get it to the point where it could be shown to the gaming press. The first third of the map was split off to another artist, and I handled the rest of the map until ship, which included rebuilding a large portion of the architecture to shipping quality along with custom props and shaders as needed.
